This report describes the state of the Canadian-facing online gambling market as of 2026 based on a dataset of 159 operators, of which 122 meet our data-confidence threshold for editorial coverage. It does not promote any specific operator; it summarises what is licensed, what is not, and what Canadian adults should know before depositing.
Canada is a patchwork jurisdiction. Ontario's iGaming Ontario framework (iGO) is the only open, privately-operated regulatory regime. Other provinces maintain a government monopoly through provincial lotteries. Operators outside these regimes are 'grey market', legal to access but without Canadian consumer-protection recourse.
MapleBonus compiles publicly available information from each operator's terms, licensing disclosures, payment documentation, and public regulatory filings, and scores each operator on trust and Canadian-friendliness. Full methodology follows.
Operators were scored across four axes: licensing quality (iGO and MGA weighted highest, Curacao lowest), payment support for Canadian rails (Interac, iDebit, InstaDebit, CAD denomination), consumer-protection signals (dispute ADR process, complaint history, T&Cs clarity), and operational longevity.
Trust scores are normalised to a 0–100 scale. Canadian-friendliness is an index of how well an operator supports Canadian adults specifically, including French-language UI, CAD support, and adherence to provincial age thresholds (19+ in most provinces, 18+ in AB, MB, QC).
The data set is refreshed quarterly. The full machine-readable operator catalogue is available at maplebonus.com/data. This report is deliberately aimed at informed consumers, not at operators themselves.
Wildz is an MGA-licensed online casino launched in 2019 by Rootz Ltd, headquartered in Malta. It has achieved a perfect trust score of 100/100 (nearly double the market average of 47.6), signalling strong compliance and player safety records. However, its Canadian friendliness score of 55/100 reflects a material constraint: Wildz is not Ontario-licensed. For Ontario residents, it operates in the grey market, Canadian law permits play, but provincial iGaming Ontario (iGO) protections do not apply. The operator is available in Quebec and throughout Canada. What distinguishes Wildz is robust Interac support (rare at only 30% of competitors), full French-language live chat, and a comprehensive responsible gambling toolkit. Tier A positioning reflects solid value, not market dominance.
Wildz earns Tier A on the strength of a perfect trust score (100/100 vs market avg 47.6) and superior Canadian payment infrastructure (Interac, iDebit, InstaDebit at 0% fee). The C$1000 welcome bonus is fairly valued at market median but lacks transparency on wagering terms. The critical caveat: **not Ontario-licensed**. Ontario residents play at a grey-market operator; disputes rely on MGA arbitration, not iGO oversight. Best fit: Quebec French-speakers and casual Canadian players indifferent to provincial regulation. Avoid if Ontario regulatory protection is non-negotiable, if you demand native mobile apps, or if you are a high-roller seeking competitive bonuses above C$2000. For mainstream Canadian recreational players seeking Interac convenience and offshore trust, Wildz is a reasonable choice, with the explicit understanding that you assume grey-market risk in Ontario.
Conquestador is an established Ontario-licensed operator launched in 2018, holding active licenses from both AGCO (Ontario's independent gaming regulator) and Malta's MGA. With a perfect trust score (100/100) and Canadian friendliness rating of 90/100, it ranks in Tier A, the regulatory elite. Approximately 26% of Canadian-facing operators hold Ontario iGO licenses; Conquestador is among them, meaning Ontario players benefit from direct AGCO oversight and formal complaint resolution. The operator distinguishes itself through zero-fee payment infrastructure across Interac, cards, e-wallets, and crypto; 24/7 live chat in English and French; Evolution Gaming live dealer tables; and a full responsible-gambling toolkit. Conquestador targets mainstream Canadians across income tiers: High-rollers use Bitcoin/USDT (1-hour settlement), everyday players deploy Interac (instant), and French-speaking Quebecers access native interface support. The platform is desktop/tablet-native with instant-play HTML5; no iOS or Android apps, but no installation friction either.
Conquestador is Tier A Ontario-regulated operator with perfect trust (100/100) and AGCO licensing. Best fit: Ontario residents seeking regulated play, Francophone Canadians, Interac-first depositors, and RG-conscious casual players. The zero-fee payment infrastructure (Interac, card, crypto) and 24/7 French support are competitive. Evolution Gaming live dealer and 29-studio roster meet Tier A game standards. Avoid if: IOS/Android mobile-first, high-roller needing transparent C$10k+ withdrawal caps, or hunting large welcome bonuses. Outside Ontario, MGA licensing is solid but regulatory gaps exist. Overall: Recommended for Canadian mainstream play, especially Ontario residents and Francophone players.
Betano is operated by Kaizen Gaming International Limited, a Greek-headquartered gaming group with established European market presence. The brand entered Canada in 2023 via betano.ca, securing both an AGCO licence administered by iGaming Ontario (iGO) and a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence before launch: Placing it among the roughly 26% of operators in this survey that hold regulated Ontario status. A trust score of 96/100 sits dramatically above the 50-operator survey average of 47.6, reflecting a clean compliance history and established corporate governance at the parent-company level. The Canadian-friendliness score of 75/100 is moderate: The platform's strengths, native CAD support, Interac availability, and full Ontario regulatory coverage, are partially offset by the absence of French-language service, non-24/7 support hours, and a withdrawal-speed rank of 14th among surveyed peers. As a Value Tier A operator, Betano competes on product breadth: An integrated sportsbook alongside the casino, 24 content providers spanning slots, live tables, and crash-game formats, plus dedicated iOS and Android apps. The C$3,000 combo welcome offer exceeds both the market average of C$2,313 and the median of C$1,000. For Ontario-based adults 19+, Betano is one of a limited group of fully regulated, iGO-licensed options in the current market.
Betano is a Tier A, iGO-licensed operator with a trust score of 96/100, both figures well above Canadian market norms. The combination of Ontario regulatory coverage, Interac support, 24 content providers, and an integrated sportsbook makes it among the more complete offerings for a 2023-launch operator. Key limitations: Withdrawal speed ranked 14th among peers, no French-language service, non-24/7 support, and wagering terms on the welcome bonus not publicly disclosed. Best fit: Ontario adults 19+ seeking a regulated, dual-product account with CAD-native banking. Avoid if French-language service, 24/7 support, or cryptocurrency access are non-negotiable requirements.
PlayOJO is a SkillOnNet-operated online casino launched in 2017, now licensed by Ontario's iGaming regulator (iGO). Tier A with a trust score of 90/100: Significantly above the market average of 47.6, and a Canadian friendliness rating of 90/100. PlayOJO distinguishes itself through Ontario regulatory oversight (a rarity: Only 26% of Canadian-facing operators hold iGO licensing), broad payment rail support including Interac, and CAD currency native to the platform. The operator holds active licences from MGA, UKGC, and other jurisdictions, signalling multi-regulatory compliance. For Ontario players, iGO licensing means operator conduct is monitored by a provincial regulator; complaints flow through Ontario's consumer framework, not international arbitration.
PlayOJO merits Tier A classification: Trust 90/100, Canadian friendliness 90/100, iGO-licensed. Best suited for Ontario residents prioritizing regulatory oversight and game variety over bonus hype. The 8,900-game library, Interac support, and CAD currency remove friction. Avoid if you require phone support or transparent bonus terms upfront. For Quebec francophone players, French support is a genuine advantage. Casual to moderate players will appreciate the security; high-rollers or bonus-chasing players should compare welcome terms elsewhere first.
Tonybet is a European operator founded in 2009 that entered the Canadian market via AGCO licensing (Ontario) and Kahnawake. Tier A, trust score 90/100, Canadian friendliness 90/100. Separators: 17 payment methods including rare Interac availability; dual-jurisdiction protection (AGCO + Kahnawake); 11 software providers (Pragmatic Play, Quickspin, Thunderkick, etc.); full-service offering (sports, poker, live dealer, bingo); 24/7 multilingual support (French, English, etc.). Only 26% of Canadian operators hold AGCO licensing, Tonybet is in a select minority. The C$1000 welcome bonus equals the market median but trails the C$2313 average by 57%, indicating they compete on reliability and regulation rather than promotional aggression. Legal entity: Osuahing Tonybet. Data confidence: High. Launched 2009 signals operational maturity.
Tonybet is Tier A, trust 90/100. Best for Ontario residents 19+ and Canadian players prioritizing regulation and payment convenience. AGCO licensing (only 26% of market) is major differentiator: Ontario residents get clear legal protection. Interac + CAD native are rare strengths. 11 providers + live dealer + sportsbook + poker meet full-service standards. C$1000 bonus is median, not exceptional, appeals to reliability-first players, not hunters. Weaknesses: No mobile apps, slow bank transfers (72h), unverified secondary licenses. Fits: Ontario locals, Interac adopters, French Quebec, crypto-curious, stability-focused players. Avoid if: Non-Ontario (no local oversight), bonus hunter (pursue C$5k+ tier), app-first mobile-only player, or speed seeker (rank 14 = mid-field). Bottom line: Solid, well-regulated Canadian option with exceptional payment breadth.
Bet99 is an AGCO-licensed operator in Ontario's regulated iGaming market and available in Quebec. Launched in 2020, it holds dual licensure from Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission (iGO) and Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The operator achieves a trust score of 84/100: Well above the market average of 47.6, and Canadian friendliness rating of 90/100, placing it in the A-tier cohort. Bet99's operator is 1000007698 Ontario Ltd, headquartered in Ontario. What distinguishes Bet99 is its uncompromising commitment to Canadian payment rails: Full Interac support, fee-free deposits and withdrawals across nine methods, and a C$20 minimum deposit accessible to casual players. The operator combines sportsbook and casino offerings with premium live dealer studios (Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Ezugi) and mobile-first design (iOS/Android apps + instant play). French support is available, serving both English and French-speaking Canadian markets. The lack of a published welcome bonus may deter bonus-hunters, but the regulatory clarity and payment convenience appeal to risk-averse players.
Bet99 merits Tier A classification: Trust score 84/100 significantly exceeds market average (47.6), and Canadian friendliness 90/100 reflects deep integration of Interac, CAD currency, French support, and regulatory clarity. The operator is best suited for Ontario and Quebec residents aged 19+ who value regulatory protection and payment convenience over headline bonuses. AGCO licensing provides enforceable player safeguards (fund segregation, mandatory self-exclusion, complaint resolution) unavailable in grey-market alternatives. Avoid Bet99 if you require phone support, seek C$5k+ welcome bonuses, or depend on crypto. Recommend for: Casual Ontario/Quebec players, Interac-first users, sportsbook hybrid players, and French-speakers. A credible alternative to Loto-Québec and OLG monopolies within legal jurisdictions.
Nitro Casino is a Tier B operator licensed by Malta's Gaming Authority, launched in 2020 by BP Group Limited. A European-focused platform, it entered Canada selectively: Available in Quebec and select other provinces, but pointedly outside Ontario's iGaming regulatory framework. The operator boasts a 96/100 trust score, among the highest in the 50-operator Canadian survey (market average: 47.6), reflecting solid European banking and compliance standards. Yet its 55/100 Canadian friendliness score reveals limited market optimization for Canadian players. The brand explicitly targets experienced desktop-only players; its lean C$200 welcome bonus and zero native mobile apps underscore this positioning. This is not a player-acquisition engine chasing signup volume. Rather, Nitro positions itself as a stable, regulated alternative for players skeptical of hyper-promotional competitors. The Tier B placement reflects this tension: Strong trust credentials balanced against low Canadian appeal.
Nitro Casino deserves its Tier B classification: High trust (96/100), low Canadian optimization (55/100). The core tension is stark: A stable, well-regulated European operator coasting on trust while offering minimal incentive to switch. The C$200 welcome bonus is contemptible; it's not a draw, it's a statutory formality. The 35x wagering is genuinely better than market norms, but C$200 doesn't move the needle for new players. The missing mobile apps are inexcusable in 2026. Grey-market status is acceptable for Quebec but a dealbreaker for Ontario seekers of iGO protection. Verdict: Suitable only for experienced desktop-loyal players in Quebec or non-iGO provinces who value studio breadth and stability over bonuses. Ontario residents and mobile-first players should skip entirely. For the right niche, seasoned French-speaking Quebec desktop player, Nitro is credible; for anyone else, friction outweighs the trust premium.
Karamba is a 20-year-old operator (launched 2005) licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). White Hat Gaming Limited operates the brand. The platform accepted Interac and CAD support relatively early, making it accessible to Canadian players outside Ontario and Quebec's regulated markets. With a trust score of 96/100, Karamba ranks in the top tier for regulatory compliance and transparency. However, its Canadian friendliness score of only 40/100 reveals a critical disconnect: While technically available to Canadians, it doesn't optimize for this market. Karamba is Tier B: Reliable but not exceptional, positioned between boutique casinos and licensed Ontario operators. It competes on game volume (4,000 titles) and legacy brand recognition rather than aggressive bonuses or localization. The platform operates in Canada's grey market, meaning Ontario players have no iGO protection and Quebec players sit outside Loto-Québec's jurisdiction. For Canadian players, trusting Karamba means relying entirely on MGA/UKGC oversight. The 96 trust score suggests this historically pays off, but the low Canadian friendliness score signals that support and features still assume a European-first audience.
Karamba earns Tier B legitimately: Trust score 96/100 and 20-year history prove operational competence, but the C$200 bonus (91% below market average) and Canadian friendliness score of 40/100 reveal it's a European-first operator tolerating Canadian players, not courting them. Sign up if you already know Karamba or prioritize game volume (4,000 titles) and MGA/UKGC regulation. Avoid if you are a bonus hunter, French-speaking, an Ontario resident seeking iGO protection, or needing phone support. Established players in Quebec, Atlantic Canada, and prairies who use Interac and have no regulatory preference will find Karamba reliable. New Canadian players should benchmark against licensed Ontario operators first; the lack of provincial protection is not trivial. The operator is not unsafe, but it is not optimized for you.
Caxino is a regulated online casino operated by Rootz Ltd under Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) license, launched in 2020. It targets Canadian players seeking alternative payment methods beyond Interac, with CAD currency support and availability in Quebec. The platform occupies the B-tier market segment: Solid trust credentials (90/100) with high regulatory standing, but a notably low Canadian-friendliness score (30/100) primarily due to absence of Ontario licensing and lack of Interac integration, the dominant deposit method for Canadian players. Caxino differentiates itself through Evolution Gaming's live dealer suite and multilingual support including French, appealing to Quebec's francophone market. However, its welcome bonus of C$500 trails the market average of C$2,313 significantly, positioning it as a mid-tier operator competing on experience and safety rather than acquisition incentives. For Ontario residents, Caxino remains unregulated, players operate in the grey market without provincial protections.
Caxino merits Tier B classification: A trustworthy (90/100), regulated MGA operator with solid game variety and Evolution live dealers, but constrained by weak Canadian integration and low promotional incentives. The platform excels for Quebec francophone players with e-wallet access, desktop play preferences, and trust-forward priorities. However, it fails Ontario residents (grey-market, unprotected), Interac-dependent players (no local banking), mobile-first gamers (no apps), and bonus hunters (C$500 vs. C$2,313 market average). The 30/100 Canadian-friendliness score reflects structural misalignment with Canadian player expectations. Sign up if: You speak French, use Skrill/Neteller, want live dealers, trust high safety ratings, and play on desktop. Avoid if: You're in Ontario, require Interac, play primarily mobile, expect competitive welcome bonuses, or need phone support.
Casiqo is a Malta-based online casino operated by N1 Interactive Ltd., launched in 2021. Licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), it carries a high trust score of 90/100: Substantially above the market average of 47.6, reflecting established operational integrity and robust player protection mechanisms in practice. However, its Canadian friendliness score of 30/100 reflects deliberate structural choices: No Interac support, crypto-forward payment design, absence of phone support, and grey-market positioning outside iGO oversight. This is not an iGaming Ontario-licensed operator, meaning Ontario residents playing here operate without provincial regulatory protection or complaint recourse to Canadian authorities. It remains viable for players comfortable with these trade-offs: Particularly Quebec residents seeking French-language support, mobile-first players, and crypto-aware users, but it's not a natural fit for mainstream Canadian casino expectations centered on Interac accessibility and iGO legal protection. Tier B positioning reflects solid trust and game quality (1,200 titles, Evolution live dealer) balanced against limited Canadian accessibility and regulatory gaps.
Casiqo is tier B with strong trust (90/100, well above 47.6 average) and solid games (1,200 titles, Evolution live dealer), but lacks Canadian accessibility. Best for Quebec players, mobile-first users, crypto-aware casuals comfortable in grey market. Ontario residents should seek iGO-licensed alternatives for legal protection. Mainstream Canadian players expecting Interac will struggle. Bonus (C$1,500) is below-market but reasonable. Best-fit: Quebec resident, bilingual, mobile-app user, moderate stakes, grey-market comfortable. Avoid: Interac-dependent, Ontario legal-protection prioritized, bonus hunters, phone-support dependent.
